1 15-ounce can black beans, drained and rinsed
¼ cup White Oak Firey Hot Ghost Pepper salsa, plus more for serving
½ cup panko
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 hamburger buns
Toppings: shredded cabbage, lettuce, tomato, pickles
- In a medium mixing bowl, mash the beans with a spoon or fork to a paste. Add the salsa, panko, and egg and stir to combine. Shape the mixture into 3 patties and place on a plate in the fridge for 20 minutes.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook or 4-5 minutes per side, until crispy and browned.
- Serve on buns with toppings of choice.
